Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page. Here are answers to some questions and more information about why Moon Chakras™ works.
What is the difference between the moon cycle and the moon phase?
The Moon Chakras App™ refers to two moon cycles, waxing (building) and waning (fading) each taking around 14 days. The waxing cycle means the moon is reflecting more light as it builds toward the full moon, and the waning cycle means the moon is reflecting less light as it fades toward the new moon.
The moon phases are full moon, gibbous (closest to the full moon), quarter (halfway between the full moon and the new moon), crescent (closest to the new moon), and new moon. All of these describe how much light the moon is reflecting.
How does the moon affect the chakras?
The moon affects us in two ways. First, it exerts a gravitational pull on the earth, which creates the ocean tides on earth and our bodies, comprising a large amount of water. Second, it provides different levels of reflected sunlight visible to us, primarily at twilight and night. These two forces, or energies, relate to how we express, receive, and align our chakras. This enables us to utilize the Divine flow pouring through us when we work with our chakras through the lunar month.
What are the 7 Chakras?
Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means disk or wheel, like the circle of a lotus blossom. The chakras originate in the tantric traditions of yoga (mantras, meditation, practice, ritual observance) and are considered the energy centers of the body. Ancient yogi seers perceived the chakras over 2500 years ago from the hidden wisdom for connecting inner-outer healing and aligning the pathways of heaven and earth, yin and yang, to merge the physical experience with the realms of the Divine, spirit, or source.
Why are there two currents, liberating and manifesting?
These two currents, or channels, connect and move energy through the chakras. The Liberating Current begins with the upward flow of self-healing awareness we all have within us. This coincides with the waxing moon cycle. The Manifesting Current expresses energy naturally bringing us into alignment with Divine flow once we have aligned our chakras through first half of the lunar month. This coincides with the waning moon cycle.
What is the meaning or significance of the rights and shadows?
The first two weeks of each lunar month (liberating current) are when nature itself encourages us to do liberating chakra work by the gradually building light of the moon. As the lunar light energy increases, it gives us the ability to reclaim our seven sacred rights: to exist, to feel, to act, to love, to speak and hear truth, to see, and to know. The corresponding shadow of each right are triggers for each chakra that may show up to help us understand and release any: fear, guilt, shame, grief, corruption, illusion, and attachment.
What is the meaning or significance of the senses and source flow?
The last two weeks of each lunar month (manifesting current) is where we naturally transform our seven rights into the seven sacred senses bringing us into alignment with Divine flow. These are: exchanging our knowing for connections, our insights for vision, our truth for integrity, love into wholeheartedness, our action into empowerment, feelings into pleasure, and our right to exist into our sense of belonging.
How should I use the Focus, Mantra, Intention, and Action cards?
The Focus Card simply helps you focus your awareness on the area of the body, or chakra center, for the day. You might feel great and work through the Daily Moon Chakra once, or feel not so great and work through it several times that day.
The Mantra Card is provided for you to speak out loud, enhancing your focus and confirming your awakening and manifesting ability. It is most effective when repeated several times in a row.
The Intention Card takes you a step further along the chakra connection process helping you recognize where to align your awakening and manifesting ability.
The Action Card gives you a simple and effective somatic (body work) movement to help you connect with the chakra center. The action always includes watching the Mandala Light Color Sound Bath video.
What are the Mandala Light Color Sound Bath videos?
There are seven liberating and seven manifesting chakra Mandala Light Color Sound Bath videos correlating to the 14 days of waxing and 14 days of waning moon energy. These move us from root chakra to crown chakra and back down from crown chakra to root chakra each lunar month. On the liberating current (waxing moon cycle) we use yoga mantra to clear old thought habits that become energetic congestion in our chakras over time. On the manifesting current (waning moon cycle) we use yoga chant to allow greater energetic connection and flow through us.
Eclipses are potent times with special energy to help chakras naturally align. They occur in the lunar cycle every six months. During an eclipse cycle, solar or lunar, there is a special Mandala Light Color Sound Bath video that helps activate this natural chakra alignment.
The Mandala Light Color Sound Bath videos are Syl’s original compositions and arrangements using mandala light color movement, mantra, chant, theta sound, and more. You may want to watch it more than once daily to enhance the Moon Chakras App™ benefits.
Why do you include the Moon Sign Card?
This card tells you the astrological sign the moon is in and reflects the seasonal energy associated with the mooon that day. This can provide additional insight into associated emotions and feelings influenced by the energy of the moon.
What is a mantra?
Mantra meditation (repetition of words or phrases) is a simple yet powerful practice that has been used for centuries to cultivate mindfulness, reduce stress, and enhance self-awareness. Benefits of the mantra include improved focus and concentration, deepened intuition and creativity, an increased sense of calm, and better sleep. The mantras in the Moon Chakras App™ are specific for the chakras, but spiritual words and phrases are used as mantras today all over the world by nearly every religion or group.
What is a chant?
Chanting is one of the oldest practices in the world and an effective method to increase awareness and align energy. The yoga chants on each Mandala Light Color Sound Bath video are in the range of notes that activate and align the specific chakra energy center in the body. This type of yoga practice, called Nada Nusandana, the Yoga of Sound, triggers a response in every cell of the body, connecting it to the entire universe. The chants in the Moon Chakras App come from Syl’s Chakra Resonance compositions linked in the top menu.
